Artist Services FAQ

Questions Before You Get Started?

Choosing professional support for your music career is an investment.

Before you purchase, apply, or commit to a service, we want you to understand what BEMYOWNBOSS Artist Services provides, what it doesn't provide, and what you can expect when working with us.

Getting Started

What is BEMYOWNBOSS Artist Services?

BEMYOWNBOSS Artist Services provides professional assessment, strategy, release planning, marketing direction, artist-development support, and defined project services for independent artists.

Our goal is to help artists make more informed, intentional decisions about the careers they're building.

Who are Artist Services designed for?

Artist Services are primarily designed for independent artists who want professional support while remaining actively involved in their own career development.

Different services support different stages.

You don't need to have a massive audience, major budget, or established team to use every service—but you do need to meet the requirements of the specific service you're considering.

I'm not sure what I need. Where should I start?

Start with the Artist Development Assessment — $99.

The Assessment evaluates six areas of your current career infrastructure and identifies strengths, development priorities, immediate next steps, and an appropriate path forward.

It is specifically designed for artists asking:

“What does my career need next?”

Do I have to purchase the Assessment before using another service?

No.

The Assessment is recommended when you aren't sure what kind of support you need.

If you already know that you need a customized development strategy, you may proceed toward The Blueprint.

If you have a release-ready project and need campaign strategy, you may apply directly for The Rollout.

If you require ongoing artist-development support, you may apply for The Partnership.

Individual services may still have eligibility or readiness requirements.

Choosing a Service

What's the difference between the Assessment and The Blueprint?

The easiest way to think about it is:

Assessment:

What needs attention?

Blueprint:

What should we do about it, why, how, and when?

The Assessment diagnoses.

The Blueprint develops the strategy.

What's the difference between The Blueprint and The Rollout?

The Blueprint

Creates a broader customized 90-day artist-development strategy.

It may address your brand, audience, business infrastructure, digital presence, marketing, release direction, and other development priorities.

The Rollout

Focuses specifically on taking a particular music release to market.

It provides campaign strategy and defined oversight surrounding the pre-release, release, and post-release periods.

What's the difference between The Rollout and The Partnership?

The Rollout is a defined project engagement surrounding a specific release.

The Partnership is an ongoing monthly artist-development relationship that may involve multiple priorities and projects over time.

What's the difference between Partnership and Partnership+?

The primary differences are capacity and level of involvement.

Partnership — $1,500/month

Includes up to 10 hours of monthly professional service capacity and two monthly strategy/development meetings.

Partnership+ — $2,500/month

Includes up to 16 hours of monthly professional capacity, up to three scheduled meetings, enhanced project coordination, deeper campaign oversight, release-calendar management, enhanced reporting, and priority scheduling.

You don't have to determine the appropriate tier alone. We can evaluate that during the application process.

Pricing & Payments

How much do Artist Services cost?

Current core pricing is:

Artist Development Assessment — $99

Rush Assessment — $149, when available

The Blueprint — $750 introductory rate

The Rollout — $1,750 introductory rate

The Partnership — $1,500/month

Partnership+ — $2,500/month

Additional services and approved out-of-scope work are priced separately.

Why are some prices labeled introductory?

BEMYOWNBOSS Artist Services is launching these services at introductory rates while we establish and refine our delivery systems.

Introductory pricing may change in the future.

The price shown at the time you enter an engagement is the applicable price for that engagement unless your written agreement states otherwise.

Do you offer payment plans?

Payment structures depend on the service.

Lower-priced services generally require payment before work begins.

The Blueprint is currently structured as:

50% to begin / 50% before final delivery.

The Rollout is currently structured as:

40% to begin / 30% at the agreed campaign-development milestone / 30% before final completion.

Partnership services are billed monthly in advance.

Specific payment terms are confirmed before an engagement begins.

Are advertising and third-party expenses included?

No, unless specifically stated in writing.

Possible third-party expenses may include:

Advertising spend

Distribution fees

Graphic design

Photography

Video production

Influencer/creator fees

Publicist fees

Website services

Software purchased specifically for a project

Travel

Manufacturing

Contractors

Other outside services

Approved third-party costs are separate from BEMYOWNBOSS professional fees.

What is your refund policy?

Because Artist Services involve reserved capacity and professional work that may begin shortly after purchase or acceptance, eligibility for refunds depends on the service, work already performed, and applicable agreement.

Deposits and payments may become non-refundable once work begins or capacity has been reserved, as specified in the applicable service terms.

Please review the terms for your specific service before purchasing or accepting an engagement.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Work may be paused when required payments are not received according to the agreed schedule.

For monthly retainers, service capacity is reserved only for active, paid billing periods.

Specific late-payment and project-resumption terms will be governed by the applicable service agreement.

The Assessment

How long does the Assessment take?

The standard Artist Development Assessment is targeted for delivery within 5 business days after BEMYOWNBOSS receives your completed intake materials.

The turnaround period does not begin simply when payment is submitted.

Your intake must be complete.

Is a Rush Assessment available?

When capacity permits, a 2-business-day Rush Assessment may be available for $149.

Rush availability should be confirmed before purchase.

The rush fee changes turnaround time only. It does not add consultation or additional deliverables.

Does the Assessment judge whether I'm talented?

No.

The Assessment isn't a music rating or judgment of your creative potential.

It evaluates the professional and developmental infrastructure surrounding your artist career.

Will you listen to my music?

Music and catalog activity may be reviewed as part of understanding your current artist position, but the Assessment is not a song critique, A&R rating, mixing/mastering review, or talent evaluation.

What happens if the Assessment says I don't need another BEMYOWNBOSS service?

Then we tell you that.

A legitimate recommendation may be:

Take specific steps independently

Continue learning

Work with another specialist

Address foundational issues first

Use a BEMYOWNBOSS service

Take no additional paid action with BEMYOWNBOSS at this time

The Assessment isn't designed to manufacture an upsell.

Can my $99 Assessment be applied toward The Blueprint?

Yes.

If your Assessment identifies The Blueprint as an appropriate next step and you purchase The Blueprint within 7 calendar days of receiving your Assessment, your standard $99 Assessment fee may be credited toward the current Blueprint price.

Rush fees are not credited.

The Blueprint

Do I need an Assessment before purchasing The Blueprint?

No.

If you already know you need a structured artist-development strategy, you may begin with The Blueprint.

Will BEMYOWNBOSS implement my Blueprint for me?

Not as part of the standard Blueprint engagement.

The Blueprint provides the strategy, priorities, sequence, and measurement framework.

Implementation remains the artist's responsibility unless separate execution services are purchased or another engagement is established.

Can you change my Blueprint after it's delivered?

The engagement includes clarification through the Blueprint Delivery Session and the defined Day-30 written check-in.

Significant strategy changes, new projects, expanded deliverables, or additional consultation may require a separate engagement or additional professional time.

The Rollout

Why do I have to apply for The Rollout?

Because not every release is ready for a campaign.

Before accepting an engagement, we want to determine whether:

The music is sufficiently ready

The timeline is realistic

Important ownership/credit issues are sufficiently resolved

Distribution is being addressed

Required assets are available or scheduled

The artist has appropriate resources

Expectations align with the service

BEMYOWNBOSS has capacity

Taking payment for a campaign that isn't ready doesn't serve the artist.

How early should I apply before my release?

Earlier is better.

The standard Rollout is designed around approximately a 6–8 week campaign window, so artists should avoid waiting until the final days before release to seek campaign strategy.

Actual lead time depends on the project and current BEMYOWNBOSS capacity.

Will you create all of my campaign content?

No.

The Rollout includes content strategy and direction, not automatic photography, filming, graphic design, video editing, or daily posting.

Production services may be handled separately where available or through appropriate outside professionals.

Will you run my ads?

Paid-media strategy may be incorporated into your campaign.

Actual campaign setup, management, monitoring, and optimization are separate services.

Paid Media Management currently starts at $500 per campaign plus advertising spend, subject to project scope.

Partnership

Why does The Partnership require an initial three-month commitment?

Artist development requires enough time to establish objectives, execute priorities, observe progress, and make informed adjustments.

The initial three-month period gives both the artist and BEMYOWNBOSS enough time to determine whether the relationship is producing meaningful value.

What happens after the initial three months?

The engagement is reviewed.

Where both parties agree that continued support is appropriate, service may transition to month-to-month under the applicable terms.

Continuation is not automatic.

Do unused Partnership hours roll over?

No.

Monthly capacity represents professional time reserved for the artist during that billing period.

Unused capacity expires at the end of the billing period.

What counts toward my monthly hours?

Client-specific professional work may include:

Meetings

Research

Strategy development

Project review

Analytics review

Campaign review

Document review

Project-related communication

Approved coordination

Planning

Deliverable preparation

Other agreed professional work

The monthly allocation is not limited to meeting time.

What if I need more hours?

Additional approved professional time is currently billed at $175/hour, subject to availability.

If additional hours become a recurring need, BEMYOWNBOSS may recommend moving to Partnership+.

Communication & Working Together

Can I text or DM you whenever I need something?

Text messages and social-media DMs are not standard client-support channels unless specifically agreed otherwise.

Client communication should occur through approved BEMYOWNBOSS channels so requests, decisions, and project information can be properly managed.

How quickly will you respond?

For ongoing Partnership engagements, the typical response target for standard project communication is 1–2 business days.

Response expectations for project-based services may vary according to the engagement.

24/7 or emergency availability is not included unless expressly contracted.

How many revisions do I get?

Revision allowances depend on the service and deliverable.

Where revisions are included, the applicable service terms will identify the number and type.

Requests beyond the included scope may require additional fees.

What happens if I'm late providing materials?

Client delays may affect project timelines and delivery dates.

BEMYOWNBOSS cannot guarantee that the original timeline will remain available when required materials, approvals, payments, or decisions are delayed.

A revised timeline may be necessary.

Results & Expectations

Can you guarantee streams?

No.

Can you guarantee playlist placement?

No.

Can you guarantee followers or social-media growth?

No.

Can you guarantee press coverage?

No.

Can you guarantee a record or publishing deal?

No.

Then what am I paying for?

You're paying for the professional service defined in your engagement.

Depending on the service, that may include:

Evaluation

Strategy

Research

Planning

Prioritization

Campaign architecture

Professional guidance

Project oversight

Analytics interpretation

Accountability

Defined execution services

Marketing and artist development can improve decision-making and execution, but no legitimate service provider controls audiences, algorithms, journalists, playlists, platforms, labels, publishers, or the marketplace.

Artist Management & Representation

Does purchasing Artist Services make BEMYOWNBOSS my manager?

No.

Purchasing Artist Services creates a client-service relationship for the defined engagement.

It does not automatically create an artist-management relationship.
